Panama Geisha Cascara (Coffee Cherry Tea)
Cascara means peel or skin in Spanish. While very popular in other areas of the world, it is fairly new in New Zealand. Cascara has a tart, yet sweet flavour similar to apple cider or tamarind. This fruity infusion has plenty of natural sugar, caffeine, antioxidants and vitamins. It is natural energy drink.
Brew guide: Pour 500ml boiling water over 35g of dried cherries. Steep for 10 minutes. The infusion should have a light amber colour. You can consume it as is, lightly sweetened or flavoured with a cinnamon stick or a couple of cloves.
